Sword Fights on the Heights IV SFOTH IV Map & Landmarks
Portals, sword islands, hazards, and how the Heights actually connect.
Read the Heights like a veteran
Sword Fights on the Heights IV is a network of floating islands linked by planks, conveyors, jump pads, and the underground Locus. Most deaths are map deaths: wrong portal, mistimed tightrope, lava spinner, or a Windforce shove into the void. This guide names the landmarks you will hear in callouts and older tutorials.
Cross-link: Sword locations for pedestal routes, Powerups for what sits near those routes, Swords encyclopedia for why each island matters, and Combat tips for movement tech between them.
Ring of Fire
The Ring of Fire is the central landmark—an iconic fiery ring / courtyard hub that orients the whole map. Under it sits the Locus saferoom. Midfights often collapse toward the Ring because portals and common paths feed back here.
Play notes:
- Winning the Ring means controlling rotations, not standing in the middle forever.
- Expect third parties whenever two players duel loudly near center.
- Touchstone escapes dump you under the Ring—reorient quickly before exiting a portal.
Locus portals (colors)
The Locus is the saferoom beneath the Ring of Fire. Inside you get a forcefield until you leave. Colored portals teleport you to major wings:
| Portal color (classic) | Typical destination |
|---|---|
| Tan / beige | Conveyor approaches toward Illumina island |
| Blue | Base of the Windforce tower / mountain |
| Red | Medkit stand area and historical Jet Boots bridge side |
| White / other bright | Common Illumina-side or courtyard exits used in veteran routes |
| Magenta / purple | Abyss (not a combat wing—see below) |
Exact brick colors can look different under skybox lighting. Learn destinations by testing in an empty server once, then treat colors as muscle memory.
Portal rules of thumb:
- Pop Shield Sphere as you exit if the server is sweaty.
- Never AFK in the Locus forever during events—some community notes mention idle kicks in remakes; in classic, you mainly waste streak time.
- Bring Touchstone so you can return after a bad exit.
Abyss
The Abyss is reached through the magenta/purple portal. It is a separate quiet space: torch lighting, sparse props, “Review Me” style WoodReviewer easter-egg presentation, and a return portal. It is not where you farm Illumina fights.
Why it matters in 2026: During The Hunt: Roblox 20, secret badge routing can send players through Abyss paths after the four-sword collector objective. See Hunt event and the Hunt/Secret Quest guides under Guides.
Falling into “I teleported and everything is purple” usually means you hit Abyss by mistake—take the return portal instead of resetting your whole mental map.
Illumina island
Illumina sits on a floating island marked by beige pillars / columns, approached via conveyors and tan Locus routing. This is the most contested pedestal in public servers because Illumina is the default S-tier carry.
Hazards: Conveyor timing, third-party campers on the exit, and players Illumina-flying in from odd angles. Grab Armor/Medkit before hard-committing if the island is warzoning.
Darkheart mountain
Darkheart lives in a cave near the base of the black mountain. Shadow Sphere is associated with the upper mountain. The whole landmark is a sustain and stealth campus: life steal below, invis utility above.
Hazards: Campers in the cave mouth, low visibility approaches, and players farming forcefields for Darkheart heals nearby. Clear the mouth before tunneling for the pedestal.
Windforce tower
Windforce crowns a mountain/tower typically reached via the blue Locus portal (historically hard to reach without that portal, Jet Boots, or lucky spawns). Expect edge fights—the sword’s identity is knockback.
Hazards: Long falls on the climb, portal campers at the blue exit, and getting your own Windforce shoved back at you on narrow ledges.
Ice path
The Ice Dagger path runs past courtyard lava spinners / hazardous plates. The dagger’s delayed arm time makes this path a favorite for ambush players who grab it and wait near chokepoints.
Hazards: Lava spinners, disappearing or awkward plates, and Firebrand users who hard-counter your entire reason for being here. If Firebrand is already out, reconsider the pickup.
Firebrand tightrope
Firebrand sits across a tightrope / plank bridge above floating orange plates. Reach and Ice immunity make the trip worth it when daggers are active.
Hazards: The tightrope itself, Windforce shoves mid-crossing, and orange plate approaches that punish panic jumps. Cross with purpose; do not emote in the middle.
Ghostwalker bridge
Ghostwalker uses a treacherous bridge approach—often described as invisible or hard-to-see bricks near the lower map. The reward is the snowball sword; the tax is voids.
Hazards: Misjudged steps, low-gravity over-jumps once you already hold Ghostwalker, and Illumina users waiting to sparkle-detect you on the return path.
Common hazards (map-wide)
- Voids under every island—Windforce turns them into weapons
- Wobbly / disappearing plates that break duel timing
- Lava spinners on ice/courtyard routes
- Trampolines that launch you into someone else’s lunge
- Portal mouths as camp zones
- Ring of Fire mid as a third-party blender
Suggested orientation loop for new players
- Spawn → find Ring of Fire visually
- Drop into Locus → note portal colors
- Tan path → Illumina island practice
- Blue path → Windforce tower once
- Red path → Medkit habits
- Learn Darkheart mountain and Firebrand tightrope on later lives
- Attempt Ghostwalker bridge only after you can survive Illumina island contests

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where is the Locus?
Under the central Ring of Fire. Touchstone teleports you there, and it contains the colored portals to major map wings.
Which portal goes to Windforce?
The blue Locus portal traditionally leads to the Windforce tower base. Confirm once in a quiet server if lighting makes colors ambiguous.
What is the Abyss for?
It is an easter-egg / side space via the magenta portal, also used in Hunt secret badge routing. It is not a primary PvP farm zone.
Why do I keep dying on the Ghostwalker path?
The bridge approach is intentionally awkward. Slow down, watch your feet, and do not practice it first while a full server contests Illumina.
Is the Ring of Fire a safe zone?
No. The Locus under it is the saferoom. The Ring itself is contested mid and a common third-party location.
