Classic roster overview

Shedletsky’s Sword Fights on the Heights IV ships eight iconic blades. You spawn with the Linked Sword; the rest sit on pedestals across floating islands. Pedestals respawn after a delay when taken. Dead players can drop swords, and during events like The Hunt: Roblox 20 those pickups can also fill quest counters.

Damage values below follow the standard classic chart (base contact / slash / lunge). Platform patches can change feel—see Patch notes. For rankings, open the Swords tier list; for counters, open Matchups; for routes, open Sword locations.

Linked Sword (Normal)

StatValue
Base5
Slash10
Lunge20
SpecialNone

Every life starts here. Contact ticks chip; slash and lunge add the real pressure. Lunge still gives a small upward hop shared by the sword family. Linked is honest training wheels—replace it as soon as Illumina, Firebrand, or Darkheart is free. It remains useful only when every pedestal is contested and you must duel immediately.

Venomshank

StatValue
Base5
Slash10
Lunge20
SpecialPoison — ~1/8 max HP ticks (~2.2s) for ~11s; target tints green

Melee numbers mirror Linked, but length is among the longest (tied with Firebrand). Poison keys off max health, so Battle Armor does not soft-delete the DoT the way flat HP padding might. Medkits and healing pads are primary cleanses; Darkheart life steal can offset ticks if you keep hitting. Note: poison-only finishes may deny KO credit to the poisoner.

Location context: often associated with the rock spire / bridge underside routes—confirm live paths in Sword locations and the Map guide.

Ice Dagger

StatValue
Contact / slash / lunge15 (freeze kill when armed)
SpecialInstant freeze KO after ~3s equip delay
Hard counterFirebrand (while equipped)

When the dagger is “awake” (commonly shown turning fully lethal/blue), a valid hit freezes and kills. The arm delay is the tax. Firebrand holders are immune while that blade is equipped. Ice Dagger dominates unprepared Linked users and loses value the moment Firebrand is online in the server. Best as a swap ambush, not a permanent main.

Location context: past courtyard lava / spinner hazards on the ice path.

Darkheart

StatValue
Base20
Slash16
Lunge32
SpecialLife steal ~40% of damage dealt (works into forcefields); black explosion finish

Darkheart is the sustain sword. Tag forcefielded players to drink HP, recover from Venom ticks, and win prolonged midfights. Reach is shorter than Firebrand/Venomshank, so spacing matters. Cave under the black mountain is the classic pedestal; Shadow Sphere sits above on the same landmark cluster.

Illumina

StatValue
Base10
Slash20
Lunge40
SpecialIllumina fly (lunge + jump height); sparkles detect nearby invis

Highest reliable non-streak damage. Purple sparkles reveal Ghostwalker and Shadow Sphere users in range. Illumina fly is the movement tech that separates veterans from tourists—see Combat tips. Pedestal sits on the pillar island reached via conveyors / tan Locus routing. Shedletsky’s favorite, and the default “I want agency” pickup for most lives.

Ghostwalker (levels 1–9)

LevelSlash (approx.)Lunge (approx.)Transparency
116.132.2~0.29
217.234.4~0.38
318.336.7~0.47
419.438.9~0.56
520.641.1~0.64
621.743.3~0.73
722.845.6~0.82
823.947.8~0.91
925501.00 (full invis)

Equip lowers gravity for huge jumps and floaty falls. Each KO raises level, damage, and transparency. Level 5+ is often cited as surpassing Illumina’s raw output; level 9 is fully invisible. Illumina sparkles remain the detection answer. Path uses the Ghostwalker bridge / invisible-bridge style approach near the lower map—expect falls.

Base chart often lists Ghostwalker starting near 10 / 15–25 / 30–50 scaling with KOs; the level table above is the community reference for named levels 1–9.

Firebrand

StatValue
Base10
Slash12
Lunge25
SpecialIce Dagger immunity while equipped; long reach (tied with Venomshank)

The anti-Ice toolkit and a strong corridor blade. Immunity is equip-gated—backpack Firebrand does nothing against a freeze. Reach wins “first touch” wars on tightropes. Pedestal sits across the Firebrand tightrope above orange floating plates. Cosmetic fire kills are memorable; practical value spikes whenever Ice Dagger is contested.

Windforce

StatValue
Base10
Slash18
Lunge36
SpecialStrong knockback / push on hit

Edge controller. Shoves send players off bridges and Ring of Fire rims. Fall deaths may deny KO credit—use shove as space creation, then confirm kills on solid ground when streaks matter. Reach is longer than Linked, shorter than Venom/Firebrand. Classic access is the blue Locus portal to the Windforce tower base/mountain.

Loadout advice

  1. Default carry: Illumina
  2. Anti-Ice: Firebrand
  3. Edge denial: Windforce
  4. Sustain/poison recovery: Darkheart + Medkit
  5. Snowball: Ghostwalker only when you can protect the streak
  6. Always know Powerups and Map so pedestals are not suicide runs

Memorize names and silhouettes first, then damage tables. On the Heights, recognizing Illumina sparkles a half-second sooner is worth more than another spreadsheet row.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many classic swords are there?

Eight: Linked Sword, Venomshank, Ice Dagger, Darkheart, Illumina, Ghostwalker, Firebrand, and Windforce.

Does Ghostwalker keep scaling past level 9?

The named display caps at 9 with full invisibility. Community notes say power can continue past the displayed max, but 9 is the practical reference point.

Which sword has the highest base damage without a streak?

Illumina leads trustworthy non-streak damage. Darkheart’s base contact is high too, but Illumina’s slash/lunge package and mobility usually define the carry role.

Can Ice Dagger freeze a Firebrand user?

Not while Firebrand is equipped. If they swap off Firebrand, they become vulnerable again.

Where should I read about sword rankings?

Use the Swords tier list for S–B rankings and the Matchups page for counters. This encyclopedia focuses on abilities and numbers.

Do Reforged-only swords belong here?

No. This page covers classic Shedletsky SFOTH IV. Remakes add extra blades outside this eight-sword roster.
